Parents: How to be a Good Sport Spectator

The way you act at your little one's games can affect how they view their sport on and off the field/court. If you're not a good sport spectator just follow these tips:

  • Cheer them on, but don't go over the top; it can affect their overall confidence in themselves.
  • Don't try to correct their game from the sidelines; they have coaches for that.
  • Let the kids play the game; it will be a more enjoyable experience for everyone.
  • Let your child learn, develop, and fail on the field.
  • Encourage them to try their hand at a variety of sports; specializing too soon will lead to mental and physical burnout.
