Culture: Seven "Cures" for Female Sex Addiction

  1. Get an accountability partner. This should be a friend that you can be 100 percent transparent with, that way if you jump off the bandwagon and into a PG-13 movie, she'll be the first to know.
  2. Disconnect yourself. Quit using the internet until you can be trusted alone on it, or get some software that will monitor your internet activity and notify your accountability partner if you go to a naughty site.
  3. Seek Christian counseling. Christian, apparently, because a secular therapist may suggest the root cause is so voracious that it interferes with life, and has nothing to do with an "impurity."
  4. Rubber Bands! Wear it on your wrist, and snap it every time an impure thought crosses your mind.
  5. Avoid "sexual surprises." Only read books or watch movies that have been approved by your accountability partner....This way you can avoid a page (or scene) that involves nudity.
  6. Post-It notes! Use Post-It notes to put Bible verses any where you might be "tempted."
  7. Be Proactive. Write a letter to Barnes & Nobles telling them how inappropriate it is to have to walk through the love, sex, & relationships section to get to the recovery & addiction section.
