If you love strawberries, you'll love fraises du bois (pronounced "frehz di-bwah"). French for "strawberries from the woods." These small, delicate berries grow naturally in forests. They're seasonal and intensely flavorful, which makes them pricey and coveted. They are similar to, but should not be confused with, alpine strawberries, which grow on mountain tops.
